Viewpoints: My {Chicago Skyline} View

It's time for another viewpoints blog circle!  This time I am sharing some cityscapes.  My landscape shooting partner in crime, Kristen Ryan of Kristen Ryan Photography, and I spent a night in Chicago in late April shooting the sunset and the nighttime skyline.  Neither of us had been to the Adler Planetarium for the view of the city but upon doing some research we couldn't pass it up as most photographers agree it's the best view of the skyline from land.  Everyone was right, the view was magnificent.  Even though there were no clouds in the sky, the view as the sun went down was absolutely beautiful.

Blue hour is a rare time for me to shoot but as the sun sank further below the horizon and the city began to light up, the colors were incredible.

Finally, we got to capture the magic of the city lit up at night.

Don't forget to follow the circle around to see more incredible landscapes from my talented friends!  Gina Yeo is up next and her landscapes never disappoint.  A visit to her mountains is definitely on my bucket list.  Click here to see her viewpoint for the month of May.
